To prevent frostbite, use the plush side first for 8-10 minutes, then use the nylon side for 10-15 minutes.

For hot therapy, heat one side in the microwave oven for 90 seconds on medium power, then turn it over to heat for 60 seconds. Heating time can be adjusted depending on the power selected. If you feel the need to store more heat, you can microwave the gel pack in 20-second intervals until it reaches your desired temperature.
